November 6, 2017 6pm - 9pm
Visit, explore, and activate this historic building. Join us for a kickoff with Mayor Adler.
The Trail Foundation (TTF) is partnering with Fusebox Festival, the Museum of Human Achievement (MoHA), Austin Parks Foundation (APF) and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) to host the opening reception for the 2nd annual Austin Design Week (ADW) at the Seaholm Waterfront. The evening represents an exciting opportunity for the entire community to visit, explore, and activate this historic building. TTF and APF are leading the Seaholm Waterfront Programming and Implementation Study of the Seaholm Waterfront in partnership with the PARD and this is the first in a series of activations for this space.
Curated by Fusebox and MoHA, artists will install digital projections mapped to the interior and exterior of the building. Musicians and vocalists will sonically explore the acoustics of the space, and attendees of all ages can engage in printmaking activities. The event will be free and open to all.
We’ll be kicking off the evening with a welcome from Mayor Austin, Steve Adler.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
