Facilitators: Christine Flores and Emily Leimer
As a 4th generation Austinite, Christine knew early on what an awesome city she lived in! With a talent in both business and creative endeavors, Christine jumped at the chance to move The Beeswax Co. to the Austin area in 2010, and it's been her passion ever since. From its early beginnings, she has played every role from Shop Chandler to Operations Director and everything in between, so if anyone knows the ins and outs of beeswax, it’s her. Outside of the Shop, Christine and her husband care for hives of their own where they witness first-hand the journey of beeswax literally from hive to candle. When she’s not busy elbows deep in honeybees, candles or emails, she can often be found with her husband and two children relaxing in the country or playing with their dog Charlie.
Since joining the company in 2016, Emily’s love for honeybees has grown from a curiosity into a passion, and she is eager to share her knowledge and experience with others, especially when it comes to the healing properties of beeswax candles. Whether it’s tea lights, candlesticks, votives or pillars – pouring candles is what she wants to be doing! When she’s not busy buzzing around the shop, Emily can be found spending time with loved ones at her family farm, enjoying nature and wildlife.
