Design X Data for Social Impact

In today’s flourishing tech industry, organizations continue to add to their growing reserves of data, furthering the need to make sense of all the information. Data science has become an essential practice in helping businesses surface meaningful insights based on the collection, computation, and interpretation of large amounts of information.

Similarly, design and it’s burgeoning philosophy of Design Thinking asks for its practitioners to thoughtfully craft a process that garners meaningful insights into how users are acting in order to design better products and experiences.

As we look through the lens of Social Impact, how might we bring these two disciplines together in order to cultivate a culture of solutioning that is data-informed and human-centered in order to address issues in our community?

To discuss this, we will be inviting speakers who are well versed in areas of data science, design, and community impact.
