Human Systems: Designing Products, Institutions & Social Spaces to Better Support Meaningful Lives and Human Values

Products, policies and spaces—both online & offline—often make it harder for people to live by their values. Join us to explore a new way of approaching your design work.

After last year’s amazing Austin Design Week turnout for our introductory session about how to design for Time Well Spent, we’re following up with another interactive exploration. This session is perfect for anyone who designs or works with a social space: any offline or online environment where humans interact. By playing fun interactive games, we’ll explore the notion of personal values (ways we approach living that result in a meaningful and rewarding experience) and how our design decisions impact people’s ability to live according to their values. Led by Austin native Shelby Stephens, founder & CEO of Jolly, this session will be energetic, fun, and will leave you with a new perspective on how to approach your design work to optimize for time well spent and lives well lived.
