The Future of Design Education and Designers in Austin

The Center for Integrated Design (CID) amplifies learning experiences at the University of Texas at Austin by integrated design across all disciplines. The CID aims to offer design strategies by rounding out student learnings so that UT grads are aware of problem solving methodologies before entering the workplace. What this means is that the CID offers courses like AI and Ethics and Intro to prototyping to UT students, regardless of major. Additionally, the CID has designed a minor so students can add design strategies more formally to their learning experience.

The CID teaches courses in conjunction with design studios like Argo, frog and the IBM Design Headquarters to offer students real-world experiences. This panel will discuss the value of working collaboratively to best prepare graduates to support the local pool of designers and design firms.
