Health & Safety at ADW21

Last updated October 4, 2021

This year at ADW21, we’re offering both virtual and in-person events.

2020 taught us that virtual events were not only possible, but needed to continue to be part of ADW’s future in order to help make our programming accessible.

We are also eager to gather together in person again – to explore, discuss, learn, and build community – and we’re committed to doing so as safely as possible.

Please note that we are monitoring the City of Austin and CDC’s guidelines; therefore our policies, procedures, and events are subject to change. We will continue to update this page and publish announcements in our Slack channel and on social media.

If you plan on attending an in-person event, please read the following:

We are asking that all of our in-person attendees, hosts, and volunteers be vaccinated. If you need more information on getting vaccinated in Austin, check out the city’s resource page. Please note that all events are hosted by members, organizations, and companies in the community at various venues around Austin. Some events may require proof of vaccination.

If you are not vaccinated, we require that you have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at least 48 hours prior to attending any in-person event. You can find a list of testing sites here. We also ask you to take extra precautions after your test. We encourage you to follow the CDC's recommendations for how to protect yourself and others from the virus. Do not attend any in-person event if you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing any symptoms. Please help us gather safely and protect the larger community.

We will be hosting a robust virtual schedule throughout the entire ADW week for all those who are not vaccinated, not comfortable attending in person, or simply prefer a virtual event.

Masks will be required at all in-person, indoor events. Masks are to be worn at all times except while presenting, eating, or drinking. There will be extra masks, as well as hand sanitizer available in our hub, and at each event.

In-person events will also have a strict capacity to keep social distancing in mind.

If you have any questions, please email info@austindesignweek.org.

Please also be sure to read our Code of Conduct prior to registering for any in-person or virtual events.
