Brian McMullen

Brian McMullen is a brand strategist and operations specialist who cut his teeth as one of Uber’s first employees. Spending just over 7.5 years at the company, Brian helped to operationalize Uber’s community management role and then its global brand design functions before moving into brand strategy. Currently, Brian is putting all of his design thinking and patience to the test by learning video game development in Unity. Having taken on a design-related role at Uber without formal design experience, the support he received from the design community was key to Brian’s personal and career growth. With his role in Austin Design Week, Brian is excited to pay it forward and help others connect in meaningful ways.

Brian’s social media would indicate he’s interested in his cats, vinyl records, gaming, hip-hop, and lampooning popular movie franchises like “Fast and the Furious” for his own amusement.
